Here’s an overview of how you rent a movie from iTunes store.
At first, the system should be checked for compliance with the minimum requirements to rent movies. iTunes 10 or later on computer, iOS 4.2 or later on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and Apple TV software version 2.0 or later on Apple TV are in accordance with the requirements to rent movies from iTunes store.
Secondly, to open the iTunes on your computer and click “iTunes Store”. When you logged in iTunes Store, you can select a movie you want to rent from new releases and catalog titles. Browse the iTunes Store and look for movies with a Rent button, or check the Top Rentals Charts to find top sellers. At this moment, movie rentals are important to note that $2.99 for library titles and $3.99 for new releases. And for just a dollar more, you can rent HD movies directly from your computer or widescreen TV via Apple TV. Rent a movie and you have 30 days to start watching it. Hit Play, and you have 24 hours to finish it — or watch it as many times as you want. Rentals disappear when they expire, so they won’t take up space on your hard drive. Once you click Rent, your movie will begin to download immediately. It is likely to take a long time to download a movie, which is up to the speed of your Internet connection.
You can not appreciate the film on your computer, iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV until the movie is downloaded. And you should make sure that the rental has been transferred to a supported iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. There are four steps to transfer a rented movie as following:
1. Connect the device and select it in iTunes.

3. Select the movie, and then click Move.
4. After all movies have been moved; click Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
After the rental is transferred, it disappeared from your computer’s iTunes library. There is no restriction on number of times to move the movie between devices during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time. The rented movie can be played as many times as you wish within the 24-hour (or 48-hour) window because the movie will automatically delete itself from your computer or portable device.
